September 2009

After starting school in August, we have finally settled into a new routine. Going back to work has me pooped! Em'ry is doing well at Ms. Nancy's and Greg and I are enjoying our teaching jobs.
Em'ry has reached some big milestones this month! She is pulling up to stand and she cut her first 2 teeth! I can't believe my baby is 9 months old!

Luckily Em'ry has at least one set of grandparents visit once a month. Mimi and Grandad came down over Labor Day weekend. We were very disappointed to miss Booker's 90th Celebration but we had a good weekend.

At the end of the month, Em'ry and I made a weekend trip to Booker to see everyone but especially Gramps. Its not too easy to coax him into the 11 hour drive to visit us! Nanny was so sweet to drive up to see Em'ry too! Em'ry and I left our house for the airport at 4:30am on Friday and flew back Sunday afternoon. I have a terrific traveler!

We were so sad that Greg couldn't join us but he is coaching football and had to go to a game Friday night. Em'ry loves her daddy! When we got home she didn't want anyone else.

August 2009

Well, it looks like the blog will be updated by month until we get caught up. August was sooooo busy that it is hard to remember details! We were able to get settled into the new house but I still haven't taken the pictures to post so those will have to come later.

Em'ry began crawling everywhere and although it is hard to keep up with her, she is much more easily entertained. She started saying done and more during mealtimes but she thinks that she can be "done" when she doesn't like a particular food. Since she is so mobile, her and Macy are playing together alot more! Macy is so patient and protective!

My parents were in town for about a week and Em'ry was definitely spoiled!

We eased her into going to the babysitter and she was a trooper. She enjoys being with the other kids and has good days but sometimes dropping her off in the mornings can be rough.
She is such a happy baby!

July 2009

We found out at the last minute that we would be closing on our house 2 weeks earlier than expected! So, we made a bee line to Booker in order to fit in one last trip to visit before moving in and starting school.

We were so excited that Greg's aunt, grandma and cousin were able to drive up to spend the day with us on Saturday. Em'ry had a blast playing with Gracyn!

Hard to believe, but Greg and I finally went to dinner alone for the first time since Em'ry arrived on Sunday night before heading home on Monday morning. Em'ry stayed with my mom.

The trip home was amazingly smooth. Em'ry was exhausted from the visit and slept all the way!

June 2009

Behind Again! The summer flew by but it was an exciting time for us. We spent the majority of our time staying with Brandi and Corey while waiting to close on our house. Em'ry loved getting to swim everyday.

Greg's first Father's Day was pretty special!

We made a trip to Galveston and Em'ry loved the beach. She was so interested in the sand and played for hours without getting it in her eyes or mouth. She also like standing in the water and letting the ways roll in on her feet.

Greg's parents visited mid-month and spent lots of quality time with Em'ry. We discovered that Em'ry likes to be read to even more than we thought. She must have inherited her love of books from me since Greg has been getting by on CliffNotes since Junior High :0)

My parents visited at the end of the month to celebrate their 30th Anniversary. We had a blast swimming, popping firecrackers, and hanging out. We went to a special dinner at Maggianos to celebrate.

Vacation in Austin!

We took a mini vacation to Austin for the State Track Meet and State Softball Tournament. My entire family met up there and we had a blast. It was super hot but Em'ry was a trooper. We just caked on the sunscreen. She also got her first taste of frozen lemonade because I felt so sorry for her out in the heat while we were enjoying ourselves. She loved it! Of course we had to take her to the capital to make her a Texan even though she was born in OKC. Greg and Papi took her and Hailie swimming and they had a ball. Nana and Papi were a little apprehensive about Greg dunking her but she didn't seem to mind. It was a great trip. The devil tried to spoil it with Jana's puppy getting deathly ill and Jana's car getting broken into but, God says NO weapon formed against us will prosper. We just took it all in stride and had a great time. No big deal, the only thing that was stolen was Dad's man purse and after seeing the vet Bella recovered just fine:)

Here we are cheering on the Lady Oilers and my friends from Pearland in the Semi-Final Softball game.

Em'ry seems to be enjoying the Track Meet even though it was steaming hot. Wearing a hat as always because she is whiter than my mom! Brandi's team ran well and placed in both relays.

In the pool with Daddy!

Playing poolside with Papi!
Checking out the waterfall and goldfish in our hotel.
Hailie and Em'ry are so cute together!
A Texan at heart! She wasn't born here but we got her here as soon as possible :)

A Week in Booker!

After moving out of our house, Em'ry and I spent a week in Booker while Greg finished up his job in OKC. We had a blast hanging out with family. Em'ry loves having someone get down on the floor and play with her and you bet the grandparents are all over that!
Hailie is also quite the entertainer and will play with Em'ry for hours. They played in the floor, Hailie dressed her up, and they hung out in Hailie's tent. As you can see, it was a ball!

The weather was amazing the whole time we were in town and we spent alot of time outside. We sat on the porch, a blanket in grams front yard, watched the dogs play, watched Hailie's T-Ball games, and watched Michael ride his dirt bike.

We also got to spend some quality time with Gramps. He still has that special touch when it comes to rocking babies :)

While we were home, Hailie graduated Pre-K and Cesar graduated HS. This is a pic from the graduation lunch.

The Big Move!

As most of you know, we are in transition! And, that is why the blog has not been updated for quite some time. It may take a few posts to get caught up but I'm going to do my best over the next few days to make it happen.

We moved out of our house in Edmond on May 22nd and Em'ry had some neat experiences during that time.

She is reaching for everything and loved it the first time I offered her a bite of my banana!

She has come to love to look at books and be read to.

During the last week in Edmond she began sucking on her toes like crazy!

Jana came to town to help me pack and we rode with her to Ada to pick up her new puppy.

We stayed in a hotel for the first time if you would call it that. We were packing so late that we didn't get there until 3 am!

And, Em'ry saw Dr. Parrington for what could possibly be the last time. She loves her and it will be hard to find someone like her in the future.
