The Unofficial Start to Summer! 18 months has flown by!

What a weekend! We have three days of school left but this weekend sure did feel like summer. I can't believe Em'ry is already 18 months old! She is currently 22lbs, 30 3/4 inches tall, in a size 18 months clothes, size 5 shoe, and talking in phrases. She asks questions and lets you know exactly what's on her mind. She counts to 15 in English, 10 in Spanish, says her abc's, sings entire songs, and can name her body parts in both languages. We are still working on potty training but we've almost got it!

We started the weekend off with dinner at the Downtown Aquarium. Em'ry loved all of the fish but was especially thrilled about the sea turtle they are rehabilitating. She also got to ride the carousel which is always a hit!

Saturday evening we headed over to a co-worker's house for a BBQ/playdate. That was fun too. We realized that its about time to purchase a swing set because Em'ry couldn't get enough.

Sunday was a lazy day because Em'ry was up the night before throwing up and coughed all night. We didn't make it to church because we knew she couldn't go to the nursery. After a nap, Em'ry was feeling better so we headed over to Corey and Bran's for a quick swim and then back to our house for a cookout. Corey, Bran, and Cesar all came over to hang out.

Monday came so quickly and we made the most of every moment. We cooked a big breakfast, napped, and then headed to Corey and Bran's to swim and cookout. Starting to see a pattern? :)
Have I mentioned that Em'ry loves the water? Well, her newest trick is holding her breath and going under! She loves to splash and jump off the rock waterfall.

Crawfish!?!?

Really? Who eats bugs? Not I! But, Greg loves them and being in Houston means the Crawfish Boils are popular this time of year. We have already been to two this season.

Oh well, Em'ry and I enjoy the sun and time with friends!

We were so excited to spend time with friends in Friendswood a few weeks ago at their annual party and just last week we went out to Cy-Fair to hang out with Greg's coaching friends.

Rice Graduate!

Matt recently graduated from Rice with an MBA and we were happy to celebrate with him. I had to work and missed the ceremony but met up with everyone for dinner. Greg isn't big on camera usage so I don't have a pic of everyone dressed up. I did however, get a picture of Em'ry hugging the
graduate!

Annual Trip to Austin!

Every year since we have been married, Greg and I have traveled to Austin for the State Track Meet. Austin is so beautiful, has delicious resturants, and the meet is always a great display of amazing athletes. We have now incorporated Em'ry into the experience. We took her last year but she was so young she didn't really know what was going on. This year she was eating mexican food right along with us, swimming, and cheering at the meet.
There was one little mishap and Em'ry fell and scraped her knee when she got going too fast down one of the hilly sidewalks Austin is known for. She didn't cry but was rather proud of her boo-boo.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we had to take Em'ry to Chuck-E-Cheese to play games as a reward for being so cooperative. (We couldn't let Bran and Corey have all the fun:)
She knew exactly what to do and took off running as soon as we walked through the door!
The butterfly was a hit!

But, the Horse was her Favorite!

Chuck-E-Cheese Please!

Greg and I recently chaperoned the Elsik High School Prom and Em'ry spent the night with Aunt Brandi and Uncle Corey. I really think they spoil her more than the grandparents! They took Em'ry to Chuck-E-Cheese for the first time! They have lots of cute pics. Just eating pizza and playing games wasn't enough, they had to buy her a LARGE stuffed Chuck-E :) We are so blessed to have family living close!

Pull out the boxing gloves!

Its on! Brandi and Jana are battling it out almost every weekend to see who gets to keep Em'ry!

This picture is from the weekend before last. They both look excited about the sleepover. Tonight, Em'ry is staying with Brandi and Corey while Greg and I chaperone Elsik's Prom. Rumor has it they are going to Chuck-e-Cheese!
