Baby Dedication at Crossings

This past weekend was Baby Dedication Sunday at Crossings where we go to church. We had a host of visitors in town to attend and support Em'ry. My parents, Grandpa Calvin, Grandma Godino, Jana, Cesar, Brandi, and Corey all came for the weekend. We spent all day Saturday hanging out at the house. Em'ry took a nice little nap with Nana while Grandma Godino taught Jana and I how to make enchiladas.

Greg's parents, Nanny, and Chris also came to the dedication on Sunday morning. It was a very special event. Em'ry looked adorable and was so sweet.

It was a busy weekend and Em'ry was asleep before everyone was out of our driveway!

1st Valentine's Day

We had a great weekend including Em'ry's first Valentine's Day! Weekends are always amazing because Greg enjoys being there when Em'ry wakes up. We hung out in our pjs and played with Em'ry until about 10:30am. She always wakes up in a great mood!

Em'ry received special gifts including an adorable outfit from Mimi that says "Heartbreaker" on the T-shirt which she wore to lunch that day. She also got two outfits from Nanna and Poppy, a cute and cuddly horse from Aunt Jana, and a very sweet card from Papa Calvin.

Jana offered to keep Em'ry so that Greg and I could go to dinner but we love taking her out with us so we decided to go to lunch instead of dinner to beat the crowds. We had lunch at Spaghetti Warehouse and rented a movie for the evening. Em'ry was in a good mood and we had a great day!

Growing Like A Weed!

WOW! Em'ry is experiencing alot of firsts all at one time! She is growing like crazy and becoming so aware of her surroundings. She is such a happy baby and smiles all the time.

Em'ry and Macy are becoming great friends. Em'ry watches her constantly. She loves to be held facing out so that she can see whats going on. Again, she loves watching TV so we are going to have to invest in some Baby Einstein videos.
Em'ry is going through a growth spurt and schedule change right now so there is never a dull moment. She is sleeping about 4.5 to 5 hours at night and I'm not complaining. She has however, had a hard time sleeping in her bed since we returned from Houston but we're working on it. As you can see from the next picture, she has the occasional "blowout." We upsized her diapers so she is finally out of newborns but the diapers are HUGE! She is also transitioning into clothes that are 0-3 months. Her newborn outfits are too short but 0-3 months swallow her.
The bigger she gets, the more confident Greg feels about taking care of her. They spend alot of time together these days. Even though she's sleeping, she smiles every morning when he kisses her and tells her goodbye. She also gets super excited when she hears his voice after work. He finally got brave and gave her a bath a couple of nights ago. He did great!

Em'ry's first flight and weekend in Houston!

We have been on the go nonstop lately. Greg and I took Em'ry to visit Aunt Bran and Uncle Corey over the weekend. We flew out on Thursday night and came back Sunday. We didn't have the screaming baby on the plane! Em'ry seemed to enjoy both flights. It helped that she was exhausted!

We spent the day Friday visiting my friends in Pearland and went to Brandi's basketball games that night. In order to see everyone, we had friends and Uncle Matt meet us at the games. Of course, everyone was googly eyed over Miss Em'ry. She was in a great mood and let everyone pass her around.

Saturday and Sunday were spent hanging out at Bran's house relaxing and playing with Em'ry. We fed the ducks in the Bayou behind the house, sat by the water in the swings, and spent all morning outside on the deck. Even though Em'ry wasn't in the sun, her cheeks got a little red! I guess I'm going to have to remember that she really is a WHITE BABY! :) I keep telling my mom not to worry because by morning the pink cheeks were gone.

Saturday night we met more good friends for dinner to catch up. I really miss all my friends and didn't want to leave. But, I guess we'll just have to visit frequently!
This trip was so stress free! Greg and Em'ry got some much needed time together. They watched alot of basketball and Em'ry is pretty much addicted to TV now. We are going to have to work on that!

Trip to Booker

This past weekend Em'ry, Jana, and I traveled to Booker. Trust me, loading up without Greg was quite interesting! Jackson had a basketball game on Friday in Ft. Elliot so we made the detour to see him play. Em'ry did great at her first bball game but its kinda sad that her first game wasn't watching one of my teams play:( I was a little worried that she would be fussy because she got four shots earlier in the day. She did great and Aunt Teresa had a blast showing her off. We stayed at my parents and Em'ry got to sleep in a big person bed and Nanna gave her a bath in the big bathtub too! Hailie is a great babysitter! Her and Em'ry played on the floor all weekend. We had a great time!

The Christmas Dress

Our most exciting Christmas story all started when Uncle Corey and Aunt Brandi bought Macy a Christmas dress. We bought Em'ry a Christmas dress early on and it was huge on her so we were able to take pictures in it but she couldn't wear it because it was falling off of her. Well, on Christmas morning Uncle Corey and Aunt Bran gave Em'ry her gift which is her first Basketball goal(how appropriate!) and they gave Macy a little red dress. Macy's dress didn't fit but was tiny enough that I had a great idea! Let's put it on Em'ry! It fit perfect! She didn't wear it that day because we had already planned to let her wear the outfit that Greg's parents got her so we saved it. When we had Christmas with Greg's extended family that Saturday, I put a onesie on Em'ry and the red dress over it. It looked adorable! The funniest part of the whole story is that Corey and Brandi bought the dress at the DOLLAR TREE!
