She loves Hello Kitty and Clowns...

I'm sure I've said it before but Em'ry is a girl who knows what she wants. She has had her mind set on a Hello Kitty Birthday Party since March and added clowns a few months ago, very specifically asking for two clowns, a boy for balloons and a girl for face painting. We went with the Hello Kitty theme and the clowns delivered exactly what my girl wanted :)

A light mist sent all the activities inside but the party didn't stop. A little magic show to kick it off!

The weather perked up for play time out back.

Pin the bow on Hello Kitty was possibly the most entertaining activity of the day!

It's not a party until you add treats!

The kids decorated their own cupcakes using mini M&Ms!

I accidentally put trick candles on the cake. Lol...

RazMaTaz made sooooo many balloon animals. Here's Hailie with my favorite!

A Hello Kitty Pinata made for a perfect ending. Well, not so perfect since the kids weren't strong enough to bust the pinata but were just as happy when my dad tore it open and let the candy fly:)

Thanks to everyone who came to help us celebrate! Em'ry had a great party and was so happy that, "my house is full up of kids!"

I'm bringing home my baby bumble bee!

BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I picked Em'ry up from Ms. Nancy's I didn't think we would make it trick-or-treating :-/

She was SCREAMING and crying and continued to do so for about an hour and 45 min which is how long it took to get from Nancy's to the Pediatric Center, see the doctor, pick up the prescriptions at Walgreens and get the numbing drops in her ear. It was a LOOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGG Time! Not that I have a dramatic kid or anything. I mean, she was only sitting in the waiting room of the doctor's office for 10 minutes screaming, "I need to see a doctor!" at the top of her lungs. They probably pushed us to the front of the line so that they didn't have to hear it any longer. I accidently giggled at her once and that was not a good idea. My poor baby was in PAIN!

After medicine and an hour nap she was good to go!

A new friend from around the corner joined us for the festivites.

Whit and Em'ry

Not long after we got started Jana and Cesar joined us. Its a good thing because the candy buckets got heavy and Cesar was the with muscles flaring ready to take on the job. The kids would run to the door get their candy and sprint back to hand off their buckets.

When we got around to Brandi and Corey's house, Em'ry was torn between comfort and spook because they had great decorations and were in costume. Em'ry ran right by Brandi toward Corey because she didn't recognize her :) I'll have to add a pic later when I can steal one from Bran's blog. Glad she joined us for part of the walk.

As soon as Whit and Susan headed home Em'ry decided Cesar was good for more than carrying her basket :)

A few nights ago, in an effort to get ready for Halloween, we decided to do a little prep work. We carved pumpkins and Jana made popcorn balls.

Teamwork

Em'ry was not a fan of the "gunk" and this is about as close as she got to helping.

What a line...

So, it happened. Last night Em'ry and I were driving home from Greg's football game(which he won 19-0 :) and Em'ry started to complain that she was scared of the dark. As in, she was scared of being in the back seat alone where it is dark not to mention that she was looking out the window where the sky is also pitch black. Maybe its the age or the approaching Halloween festivities which leads people to put out scary decorations, but either way I couldn't calm her even with the dome light.
As I was driving, I reached back and held onto her foot as it was dangling out of her carseat because that's the only part of her I could reach. She smiled and said,
I LIKE YOU!
not, I love you but I LIKE YOU! Sometimes I think "I love you" is so common that we miss the meaning. When I tell her I love her she immediately responds with the same words. But this, this was unprompted and she chose those words carefully :) I told her I LIKE her too!

Fast, Furious, and Fun Fall

Has it really been 5 weeks since my last post?!? Holy Cow! I'll try to catch you up!

First, I have to brag a little on this one!

Since going back to "school," she can recognize, recite, and WRITE ALL of her letters without an example!

And, her coloring and painting has vastly improved! Did I mention she counts to 60 by ones and to 100 by tens?!?

Lot's of fall crafting has kept us busy.

Em'ry and Shy with their pumpkins

Em'ry took a raodtrip to Booker and had a ball! But, when the kid is away her mommy will play!

I surprised Brandi with Dolly Parton tickets and just the two of us headed out on the town!

Dolly put on an amazing show! It was everything I could have imagined and more. It was pretty obvious that Brandi enjoyed her early birthday gift :)

Then, we met up in OKC and spent the weekend with Teddy, Leedy, and little man, Layton. The DEVON Fall Festival in OKC was a hit!
Em'ry and Layton LOVE each other!

My happy girl!

Only in OKC! (I'm sure this is illegal! oops! We're from out of town :)

Now, we are back and enjoying amazing weather and exciting tennis! The Elsik Rams are Back to Back District Champions!

We Rented a Lodge...

Cochran Family Reunion 2011

24 people squeezed into a Church Campy Lodge could be a recipe for disaster...

or, AWESOMENESS!!!!

A day at Turner Falls:

Nice spot to swim in the falls

A short hike

While the kids chilled in the wading pools...

the adults and big kids were playing hard!

A Day in the Arbuckle Wilderness:

Em'ry is a brave one!

Up late playing games, up early cooking breakfast, reminiscing about our time together growing up, and talking about how we hope next year we can share the love with those who didn't make it this year and hopefully there will more babies to cuddle.

Christina said it best, "Grandma Dovie and Grandpa Calvin would be proud!"
