Well, although I don't have any pictures to share I figured I should give an update about
Em'ry's leg injury. After sending her to Nancy's on Monday and still seeing no improvement, we took her to a Pediatric Bone and Joint Specialist. There we learned that
Em'ry has a compression fracture in her right tibia which they spoke of as a Toddler's Fracture because it didn't show up on the x-ray but would be seen rather on a bone scan.
We had a choice. The doctor asked us about Em'ry's daycare arrangement and said that should ultimately determine whether or not we cast her right leg. Apparently most major daycare providers require any fracture to be cast before readmitting the child. Since our babysitter only cares for 8 kids at her house we decided not to cast it. She said she had no problem taking care of Em'ry and that she wants what is best for her. We also chose not to cast it because according to the doctor, Em'ry's leg will not suffer any more damage if she crawls or attempts to put pressure on it. He said that because she is under four her bones are growing very rapidly and are not stiff but spongy and should heal itself. A cast would not speed up the process. It would only provide extra protection but in turn lead to muscle atrophy.
As for Em'ry's temperment, she is doing great. She is crawling everywhere and playing like crazy. She does get frustrated from time to time and even uses that word with her own twist, "I'm frustratin.'" I've heard this alot lately too when asking her to try to stand-up, "I'M NERVOUS!" But, all in all she is her happy self. Right now, her and I are in Booker for a flash trip lasting less than 48 hours. She is having a blast with the grandparents and Hailie! Pics from our trip will follow soon. Thanks for all the prayers during this crazy time.
